Gideon's Blog

In direct contravention of my wife's explicit instructions, herewith I inaugurate my first blog. Long may it prosper.

For some reason, I think I have something to say to you. You think you have something to say to me? Email me at: gideonsblogger -at- yahoo -dot- com

Robert Alt has a good comment on Louisiana: if it goes there's a runoff, OT will be played under McCain-Feingold rules. And that's all the rules, even the unconstitutional parts banning outside issue ads within 60 days of an election. If control of the Senate hinges on this race, how quickly do you think we'll see litigation to allow those ads - or to ban those that air "illegally"? Or to declare the election invalid because of those "illegal" ads? This could be very interesting.

As an aside, I agree with all his Senate predictions except South Dakota and Arkansas. He has the incumbents winning both; I think they'll lose both. No impact on our overall predictions, since one is currently Democrat-held and one is Republican.
